Kanto Freestyle Breakfast has been serving well-loved and familiar Pinoy fare in gourmet style. Since its humble beginning in Mandaluyong back in 2011, it continues to excite Manileños with its offerings hence, the increasing patronage. Good thing they now have several branches within the metro that makes easier for people to visit them at their nearest location.
I still remembered dining with friends at their first Kanto branch in Plainview, Mandaluyong several years ago. It was a typical home that was transformed into a restaurant that offers Filipino comfort food.
It was a perfect place to sober up after a night of hanging out with friends.
The place has transformed over the years. I couldn’t find the trace of what it used to be several years ago.
Today, they have numerous food selection on their menu that will keep you coming back.
My recent Kanto visit was at their Marikina branch. The place has that rustic and homey vibe, surrounded with beautiful green plants. The ambiance is perfect for a relaxing meal with your loved ones.
But if you are hesitant to go out because of the pandemic, you may want to order via Grab Food.
What to Order
Everything on the menu look so good to eat. Wait til you see their food served on your table, they are Instagramable.
Roast Beef Pares
This mouthwatering fusion dish is highly recommended. It served with rice topped with egg and some tomatoes with pesto on the side.
Enjoy Pampanga tocino not only during breakfast but 24/7. Kanto serves it any time of the day whenever you crave for some tocino from Pampanga.
Chocnut Champorado with Tuyo
Their chocnut champorado with tuyo doesn’t look amazing, it really taste so good that you may not want to eat any other champorado again. That could be an exaggeration, of course, but you try it and let me know what you think.
The sweetness of the champorado is not overwhelming, and it is complemented with the saltiness of the tuyo.
Mixed Berry Pancake
Recently I ordered this mixed berry pancake via Grab. I only added small amount of the berry jam to limit my sugar (ahem!), and poured the delicious sweet syrup.
New Zealand Beef Tapa
Kanto’s tender and savory beef tapa is a must-try. It is served with fried eggs and tomatoes with pesto. It is simply a perfect beef tapa meal.
